Teun Koopmeiners: The Key to Juventus' Pursuit of Jhon Lucumi

August 10, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Italian powerhouse Juventus is actively pursuing Bologna's defender Jhon Lucumi, with their efforts to secure the player now escalating.

According to reports, although a deadlock exists between the clubs regarding Lucumi's transfer fee, midfielder Teun Koopmeiners might hold the solution to this impasse.

Bologna has reportedly expressed interest in acquiring the Dutch international as part of any deal for Lucumi. The club is finding it difficult to lower their asking price to Juventus' desired level due to a 20% sell-on clause owed to Genk, who originally sold Lucumi to Bologna.

Juventus is reportedly open to offloading Koopmeiners. While there have been inquiries from Premier League clubs, no substantial offers have materialized yet.

Furthermore, Bologna's sporting director, Giovanni Sartori, was instrumental in bringing the Dutch midfielder to Italy during his tenure at Atalanta. He has also reportedly discussed a potential move for Teun with his brother, Peer. This connection could be significant, even though Juventus might find the idea of including the elder Koopmeiners in a transfer for Lucumi somewhat intricate.

However, this scenario remains a plausible option that could develop later in the transfer window.
