Sean O’Malley Explains Throwing Hat at Fan During Noche UFC Walkout
Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley reacted to a fan's behavior during Tommy McMillen's entrance at Noche UFC. McMillen, a featherweight fighter, secured a unanimous decision win against Marwan Rahiki in a notable bout at the event.
O'Malley was in McMillen's corner, alongside coach Tim Welch, for the fight. O'Malley has significantly influenced McMillen's career as he progresses toward the featherweight rankings.
During McMillen and his team's walk to the Octagon in Glendale, an intoxicated fan directed insults at McMillen. O'Malley intervened in response.
O'Malley discussed the incident on his YouTube channel. He stated the fan, described as a "drunk cowboy," was verbally abusing McMillen for about two minutes, saying things like "F— you Tommy! You f—— p—-!".
O'Malley recounted, "I grabbed my hat, balled it up and got it into a nice ball. Right when we walked out, I smoked that m——f—– right in the face with it. Part of me kind of felt bad, but I told Tim I was going to ‘smoke this m————. I was going to give it to a fan, but he got it in the face.”
Other UFC fighters have also confronted fans during walkouts. UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan received a penalty from the Nevada State Athletic Commission after an altercation with a fan at UFC 300.
