Movsar Evloev is nearing UFC gold. If he secures the title on Saturday, he’s open to defending it against Arman Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan has mentioned a possible move to the 145-pound division, though many doubt its feasibility. Nevertheless, Evloev would welcome such a challenge.

Speaking to reporters before his UFC 303 bout against Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title, Evloev responded to questions about fighting Tsarukyan. The top contender indicated he would accept the fight if the UFC promotes it.

“Throughout my career, I’ve never picked potential fights because it was never my decision,” Evloev stated. “I fought whoever was presented to me, and that won’t change. They make all the decisions. I’m simply a fighter. We are here to compete, and we compete when management dictates. Of course, along the way, we aim for belts, earnings, and recognition. We agree to these terms ourselves, but the decisions here aren't mine, especially not mine.”

“If Arman wishes to drop to featherweight, as I’ve said, that’s my domain. Whether Arman moves down or someone else moves up, it doesn’t matter to me who my opponent is. If he makes 145 and the UFC wants the fight, then we’ll fight.”

Speculation surrounds the lightweight division, particularly with current champion Justin Gaethje sidelined until 2027 due to hand injuries. Tsarukyan has established himself as the primary contender, but it remains uncertain if Gaethje will favor that matchup as his fighting career nears its end.
