Milan Make Contact for Leverkusen's Ibrahim Maza; Deal Could Make Sense

July 31, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

AC Milan is actively working to strengthen their attacking line and has set its sights on Bayer Leverkusen's Ibrahim Maza.

According to reports, manager Ruben Amorim is eager to acquire the attacking midfielder, a position he wants to reinforce. Milan has admired Maza since his time at Hertha Berlin, and while discussions took place last summer, Leverkusen ultimately secured his signature.

New negotiations have commenced with Maza's representatives at Stellar, the same agency handling discussions for Rafael Leao and Fenerbahçe.

Currently, Leverkusen's valuation of Maza is a hurdle. They consider him a crucial player for the upcoming season and are reportedly asking for approximately €40 million. The clubs are expected to hold further meetings in the coming days to explore the feasibility of a deal.

Why This Transfer Could Be Strategic

Milan requires players capable of performing in confined spaces and breaking down defenses, a need explicitly highlighted by Amorim's appreciation for players like Samuel Chukwueze. Maza could fulfill this role, and his potential transfer may gain momentum if Rafael Leao departs.
