Nate Diaz and Dillon Danis Exchange Barbs Online After Fight Cancellation

September 1, 2026Diego Herrera1 мин

Former UFC star Nate Diaz and MMA fighter Dillon Danis recently traded insults on social media following Danis' abrupt withdrawal from the Duel Arena 1 main event.

Danis was scheduled to make his return to MMA against Mike Perry at Duel Arena 1 but had to pull out of the fight during fight week due to a severe arm injury. This marks another instance in recent years where Danis has withdrawn from a scheduled bout at the last minute, following previous cancellations against KSI and Anthony Taylor in Misfits Boxing.

The latest cancellation drew criticism from fans and observers, including Nate Diaz. Diaz did not miss the opportunity to mock the controversial fighter.

Diaz initially reacted to the news of Danis' withdrawal by tweeting, "Huge p---- [LAUGHS]."

Danis retaliated with an aggressive response to the former UFC standout, stating, "The human punching bag that can talk. You turned down over a million-dollar offers to fight me on multiple occasions, so shut your b----- up before I go to Stockton and b---- slap you and your brother you abandoned on the street. That’s why security has to keep you two separated. Unloyal c---."

Diaz and Danis have a history of animosity, stemming partly from Danis' association with Conor McGregor, a longtime rival of Diaz. The two fighters had a near-physical altercation at a UFC event in Madison Square Garden in 2024, leading to their removal from the venue.

Diaz recently returned to MMA earlier this year, losing to Mike Perry. The possibility of a future fight between Danis and Diaz remains open if both parties are willing to compete.
