Kana's Clear Path to ONE World Title Shot Against Phetjeeja

September 1, 2026Diego Herrera2 мин

Kana has outlined a precise strategy for her return to contention for the ONE Women's Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship. Following her recent unanimous decision victory over Yu Yau Pui at ONE Fight Night 46, which marked her third win in the promotion, Kana is now 25-7 in her professional career. This win has intensified her pursuit of a rematch against ONE Women's Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Phetjeeja, who defeated her by decision in 2025.

Kana's roadmap to a title shot involves a two-step plan focused on avenging her previous losses in the division. "First I lost against Vero. And second, Antonia Prifti, I lost to her before during my K-1 period. So at least I need to win against these two fighters in order to get a revenge against Phetjeeja," she stated.

Kana also eyes Muay Thai crossover

Beyond her kickboxing objectives, Kana has expressed interest in a Muay Thai crossover match against ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. Rodrigues recently defeated Phetjeeja, preventing her from achieving two-sport championship status earlier this year. "There’s another one I’m looking at, which is Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, who won against Phetjeeja. So if possible, I want to fight Allycia in Muay Thai rules," Kana explained.

Kana has indicated that ONE SAMURAI 4 in Tokyo this October would be an ideal venue for her next appearance, providing a clear multi-faceted plan for the remainder of the year, spanning both kickboxing and Muay Thai disciplines and involving several key opponents.

Competing under Muay Thai rules would represent a new challenge for the Japanese fighter, who has exclusively competed in ONE Championship using larger gloves in kickboxing bouts. She has acknowledged the significant adjustment required for Muay Thai's smaller four-ounce gloves, describing it as "a whole new thing" she has yet to experience in a professional fight.
