Roma's Pursuit of Inter's Luis Henrique is on Hold

August 15, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Roma's interest in Inter Milan wingback Luis Henrique is not currently being pursued. The Giallorossi are prioritizing the acquisition of a forward player before strengthening their defense.

The club was reportedly close to an agreement for Porto's Rodrigo Mora. However, Porto has imposed strict conditions on the loan deal proposed by Roma. This could potentially turn into an obligation to buy next summer for a sum approaching €50 million, a figure Roma is hesitant to commit to at this time.

If the impasse with Porto continues, Roma may explore other options. Nevertheless, the expectation is that the club will first focus on securing an attacker before shifting their attention back to Henrique.

A Strategic Decision for Roma

While Luis Henrique is reportedly open to a move and Roma has agreed to terms with Inter, who can afford to let him go with Djed Spence's arrival imminent, Roma's decision to wait is understandable.

Their immediate need lies in the attacking department. Should a deal for Mora fall through, they will need to begin their search anew. It appears unlikely that Porto president André Villas-Boas will soften his demands.

Furthermore, the recent signing of Nahuel Molina from Atletico Madrid has bolstered Roma's defensive options, allowing them to temporarily set aside the Henrique transfer.
