Jonathan David's debut season in Serie A with Juventus did not unfold as anticipated. While he made an impact at the World Cup with Canada, it appears this may not be enough to secure his continued presence in Turin.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker is eager to remain with the Bianconeri and establish himself as a key player. However, his relationship with manager Luciano Spalletti experienced fluctuations throughout the previous campaign, leading the Italian coach to harbor significant reservations about David's fit within his system.

Spalletti firmly believes that the Canadian international lacks the necessary edge and is often too passive in his approach. He has publicly expressed this opinion and maintains it, making David's departure from Juventus this summer a strong possibility.

The coach is prioritizing a more physically imposing player and is pushing for the acquisition of Randal Kolo Muani, especially following Dusan Vlahovic's exit. Juventus's primary challenge in facilitating David's departure lies in his substantial salary, which could hinder any potential move.

The club hopes that interested suitors will come forward and make a suitable offer, which would benefit all parties involved.

Juve May Have to Consider a Loan Deal

With the signing of Jeff Ekhator and the likelihood of acquiring another forward, neither Lois Openda nor David may have a realistic chance of staying at Juventus. Allowing the Canadian to leave would provide financial relief for the Old Lady. Therefore, they may also have to accept a loan exit. This would allow them to receive a loan fee and reallocate the saved wages towards new signings.
