Dusan Vlahovic, now a free agent following his departure from Serie A club Juventus, has reportedly made a decision regarding his next career move. Despite receiving an offer from Besiktas, the Serbian striker is holding off on a potential transfer to the Turkish club.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vlahovic visited Turkey to hear Besiktas’s proposal and held extensive discussions with coach Vincenzo Italiano. However, he has placed the offer from the Turkish giants on standby, as he is reportedly aiming for a transfer to a more prominent club.
Besiktas is understood to have proposed a lucrative package, including a €10 million annual salary and a €5 million signing-on bonus. Nevertheless, Vlahovic’s sights are set higher. Specifically, he is said to be interested in potential moves to Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Atletico Madrid has also been mentioned as a possible destination, with the Spanish club also seeking to strengthen their attacking lineup.
There remains a possibility that Juventus might also re-enter the race for Vlahovic, as they are reportedly monitoring the situation and could make a move if circumstances allow.
Vlahovic’s Wage Expectations Pose a Challenge
A significant hurdle in any transfer for the 26-year-old striker is his substantial wage demands and the accompanying signing-on bonuses. These were reportedly a point of contention with Juventus and are likely to present a similar challenge for any major club interested in acquiring his services, especially considering the potential commission demands from his entourage.
This situation suggests that interested clubs may opt to wait, as Vlahovic might be compelled to lower his financial expectations later in the transfer window.
