Preview Rasmus Kristensen Ready to Go Again After Midtjylland Return

Rasmus Kristensen has declared his readiness to contribute to his former club’s quest to regain the Danish Superliga championship following his return to Midtjylland.

The 28-year-old defender rejoins his childhood team after a two-year stint with Eintracht Frankfurt, who have reportedly received €6 million for his transfer.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s board member for sport, Markus Krösche, stated in their official press release that Kristensen initiated the move, emphasizing his desire to be closer to his family. Krösche acknowledged the difficulty in letting him go but respected his wish, agreeing to the transfer after negotiations with Midtjylland. He expressed gratitude for Kristensen’s commitment and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Kristensen, who spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Roma from Leeds United, faced multiple injury setbacks during the 2025/26 season. Despite making 28 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions, he missed 16 games for both club and country due to ankle and muscle injuries.

Although he experienced muscular and hamstring issues during the 2024/25 season, Kristensen is confident about his physical condition and believes he can help Midtjylland secure the Danish title from Aarhus.

Addressing his injury concerns, Kristensen told Get Italian Football News: “No [concerns]. Not regarding my injuries, not regarding my body.” He explained that his ankle injury was a matter of bad luck, and his muscular injuries were minor. He expressed confidence in his ability to manage his body and prevent future issues, working in conjunction with the training and medical staff.

After winning the Superliga title in 2023/24, Midtjylland (nicknamed “Ulvene”) have finished as runners-up for the past two seasons, losing to København and then Aarhus. The reigning Danish Cup champions are now counting on Kristensen’s experience and leadership to help them return to the top of Danish football.
