Raven Chapman Poised for UK Return After Successful Brain Surgery

British boxer Raven Chapman, a former world title challenger, is anticipating a return to the United Kingdom as early as next week. This comes after she underwent a second successful surgical procedure to address a brain bleed, which she suffered after a sparring session in Denmark.

The 32-year-old fighter collapsed following training on July 24th and was promptly airlifted to a hospital. There, she was diagnosed with a brain haematoma and cerebral oedema.

Following an initial emergency surgery and a period in a medically induced coma, Chapman's management company, Vote Boxing, has confirmed the success of a subsequent procedure. A statement from the company indicated that this further surgery is a crucial step in her recovery and enhances her safety for travel back to the UK.

"If all continues to progress as hoped, we are aiming for Raven to fly home sometime next week, where she can continue her recovery surrounded by her family and loved ones," the statement read. "Although there is still a long road ahead, this is a significant milestone, and we remain hopeful as Raven continues to make progress each day."

Chapman's professional record includes 10 wins and two losses. She previously competed for the WBC featherweight title in October 2024, in a bout against Skye Nicolson, which was notable as the only women's world-title fight ever held in Saudi Arabia.

A GoFundMe campaign established to support Chapman's rehabilitation and after-care has garnered significant public backing, raising over £88,000.
