Napoli, the reigning Serie A champions, appear to be nearing the departure of defender Leonardo Spinazzola at the end of the season.
The Italian defender’s contract in Naples is set to expire. Reports suggest that his representatives have explored potential moves, but AC Milan has shown little interest. Juventus is considered a more likely destination.
According to Umberto Chiariello, as reported by AreaNapoli, Spinazzola’s demands for a contract renewal have been excessive. He is reportedly seeking a two-year deal with a salary of €4 million per season. Napoli has been hesitant, viewing these terms as too high for a player over 30 years old.
Napoli typically reserves such wages for younger players, making Spinazzola’s departure in the summer increasingly probable. This would mark an honorable exit, given his solid performances this season.
This situation could potentially put Juventus in a favorable position, as Giorgio Chiellini is said to have a strong relationship with Spinazzola’s entourage.
