Roma, a Serie A team, is currently experiencing internal turmoil due to a strained relationship between manager Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri. Should this lead to Gasperini’s dismissal, Ernesto Valverde is being considered as a potential replacement.
According to reports, the ownership of Roma remains undecided on the club’s future direction. While they acknowledge Gasperini has repeatedly overstepped boundaries, the club’s past difficulties with previous managers are causing them to contemplate a longer-term commitment to Gasperini.
However, the situation is far from settled. If the Italian manager departs, Roma aims to be prepared. Ernesto Valverde has emerged as a primary candidate, with his name having been previously considered for the position.
Cesc Fabregas is unlikely to be a contender again, given his rejection of the role last summer. Another possibility is former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who has strong links to Manchester City. At present, both Valverde and Maresca are favored by Ranieri.
Other individuals being considered include Daniele de Rossi, who is performing well at Genoa, and Vincenzo Italiano, who has already achieved success with Bologna.
This week is expected to be pivotal in determining Gasperini’s future at the club.
