Although the bout is not yet officially confirmed, it appears that the newly crowned UFC lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, will face a challenge from top contender Arman Tsarukyan.
Following his victory over the previously undefeated champion Ilia Topuria at UFC White House on June 14th, Gaethje was offered a new truck by Tsarukyan, whose friend had placed a substantial $1 million wager on the American fighter.
However, Gaethje declined this generous offer during an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“I’m not taking this truck from Arman,” Gaethje stated. “There’s absolutely no way I would accept a truck… I don’t want to drive around in a truck bought for me. I can’t do it. We didn’t agree to it, and he doesn’t owe me anything.”
Tsarukyan, ranked second in the UFC lightweight division, responded to Gaethje’s remarks. “Justin is saying he won’t take the car. Fine, we won’t give it to him. He doesn’t want it, he doesn’t deserve it. I was shocked when I watched the video. If you don’t want it, then f*ck you.”
“I’m going to beat him badly in the fight,” Tsarukyan continued. “I can’t wait. You’re saying you don’t want my truck, so f*ck you. Instead of being rude, you should say ‘thank you.’ I bought the truck for you, and you’re saying you won’t even drive it. Why are you being such an a**hole?”
“I spoke with his manager, asked about the horsepower he wanted, and told him the truck was already acquired. F*ck you, Justin, I can’t wait to defeat you. If you don’t need it, you have friends, family, parents – give it away to someone who does. Why are you being such an a**hole?”
