Highly sought-after MMA free agent, Patchy Mix, has reportedly joined the UFC and is potentially stepping in to fill a spot at UFC 316.

The PFL recently confirmed that former Bellator bantamweight kingpin Patchy Mix would not be renewing his contract, making him a free agent.

This follows previous issues the PFL has faced with top talent, such as Cris Cyborg and Patricio Pitbull, the latter of whom also ultimately signed with the UFC after leaving the PFL.

Mix is widely regarded as one of the premier bantamweights globally, and his entrance into the UFC`s 135lb division promises numerous compelling fights.

Report: Patchy Mix Joins UFC, Set to Debut at UFC 316

Shortly after the surprising announcement of `No Love`s` departure from the PFL – despite not having fought under the PFL banner since their acquisition of Bellator – reports emerged that Mix had already finalized a deal with the UFC.

According to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani on his show, sources indicate the signing is effectively complete:

“What I do know is, according to sources, there’s no exclusive negotiation period, he can sign with someone today. And it’s not a matter of if he will sign with the UFC it’s a matter of when. And really, I’ll go as far as saying it’s not a matter of when he’ll sign with the UFC, it’s a matter of when he’ll debut with the UFC, this is a done deal.”

Soon after, news surfaced that former UFC bantamweight title contender Marlon Vera had withdrawn from his scheduled bout against Mario Bautista at UFC 316.

Subsequent reports indicated that Mix is expected to step in and face Bautista in Newark, marking his highly anticipated UFC debut on a major card headlined by the bantamweight championship clash between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley.

Mix Previously Expressed Confidence Against Sean O`Malley

For several years, particularly during O`Malley`s reign as champion, fans have advocated for the UFC to sign the 31-year-old fighter.

During that period, many observers considered Mix, not the UFC champion `Suga`, to be the top bantamweight globally.

Given this perception, Mix has been asked about a potential fight with O`Malley in the past, confidently stating he believes he would secure a victory within the first two rounds.
