Sergio Pettis and Raufeon Stots are prepared to set their friendship aside when they meet in the cage.

These two former Bellator bantamweight champions are scheduled to compete at the PFL event taking place on June 27th at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The bout between Pettis and Stots is being highlighted as a showcase fight and is set to open the main card. The main portion of the event will also feature semifinal matchups from the light heavyweight and middleweight tournaments.

Pettis (23-7) is looking to rebound after experiencing a rare losing streak. He enters this fight following back-to-back defeats against Kyoji Horiguchi and Patchy Mix. Prior to this recent downturn, Pettis was on an impressive run, winning three consecutive bantamweight championship bouts. He initially claimed the title from Juan Archuleta, then delivered a knockout victory over Kyoji Horiguchi, and successfully defended against Patricio Pitbull by decision, preventing Pitbull from becoming a three-division champion.

He lost the bantamweight title to Patchy Mix at Bellator 301 and subsequently lost a rematch to Horiguchi at a RIZIN event held this past June.

Stots (21-2) has secured two straight victories since his own championship loss to Mix. The former interim champion has recorded consecutive wins over Marcos Breno and his long-standing rival, Danny Sabatello.

The June 27 PFL event is headlined by a middleweight semifinal contest featuring Fabian Edwards vs. Josh Silveira. The co-main event will see light heavyweights Phil Davis and Sullivan Cauley face off.
