Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the promotional company founded by Jake Paul, has significantly bolstered its roster of British boxing talent with the recent signings of Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron.
These two highly-regarded pound-for-pound stars in women`s boxing join unified super-bantamweight world champion Ellie Scotney and other notable fighters who have recently signed deals with the rapidly growing promotional outfit.
While the additions of IBF world super-middleweight champion Marshall (13-1, 10 KOs) and former undisputed champion Cameron (20-1, 8 KOs) were announced earlier today via MVP`s social media platforms, the specific opponents for their next fights have yet to be confirmed.
Although Marshall has previously indicated interest in MMA, she appears focused on enhancing her already distinguished boxing career with further accomplishments.
The two-division champion`s only professional defeat came against Claressa Shields, widely considered by many to be the greatest female fighter of all time, in 2022.
Despite the outcome, their initial encounter—heavily promoted due to Marshall`s victory over Shields during their amateur careers—delivered a compelling spectacle from start to finish.
Now, with Shields campaigning at heavyweight and Marshall (`The Silent Assassin`) coming off a majority decision victory against Franchon Crews Dezurn in 2023, speculation is mounting about a potential rubber match between the two rivals.
MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian commented to ESPN, “The plan is to support Savannah in pursuing any fights she is interested in, which includes a rematch with Claressa Shields.”
As for Cameron, her decision to sign with MVP could be viewed as somewhat unexpected, particularly given that she only had two fights after previously signing with Queensberry Promotions.
Regardless, the future plans for the 33-year-old boxer, now training under the guidance of Stephen Smith, appear ambitious.
Before losing their rematch by an equally narrow margin, Cameron secured a significant majority decision victory over Irish boxing sensation Katie Taylor in 2023.
It is now anticipated that the WBC interim super-lightweight champion is likely to face the winner of the trilogy showdown between Taylor and Amanda Serrano, scheduled for July 11.
Bidarian added regarding Cameron`s future, “If whoever wins intends to keep the belt over the long term, they will have to face Chantelle.”
