AS Roma has received an update regarding the injury sustained by defender Gianluca Mancini.
Medical tests conducted today confirmed that Mancini has suffered a lesion to his right adductor muscle. The Italian international was forced off the pitch after sustaining an injury during yesterday’s match against Inter.
The 29-year-old is expected to be out of action for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. His recovery will be closely monitored, with a potential return anticipated before next month’s fixture against Fiorentina. Consequently, he is projected to miss upcoming matches this month against Pisa, Atalanta, and Bologna.
During the 5-2 defeat to the Nerazzurri, Roma’s coach replaced Mancini with Daniele Ghilardi. The dropped points from this match mean Roma now sit 6th in the league standings, a position that leaves them vulnerable, as 7th-placed Atalanta could potentially overtake them depending on results in the next matchday.
