Reece Bellotti is not looking to play a supporting role or merely follow the lead of Ryan Garner when they meet in the ring on July 26th. Instead, the boxer, who also works as an electrician, is driven by his own significant aspirations that extend far beyond his day job.

Known as `The Bomber`, Bellotti, who has experience as a lighting technician in the film industry, now seeks to bring added brilliance to his boxing career. A victory over Garner is key to achieving this, as it would propel him closer to potentially challenging for world honors.

Before that, however, Bellotti must once again compete as the away fighter, likely facing a hostile reception at the Bournemouth International Centre this summer. Nevertheless, the reigning British and Commonwealth super-featherweight champion is determined to deliver a formidable performance.

Bellotti comes into the fight on a strong trajectory, having won his last six contests, including dominant displays against opponents like Michael Gomez Jr and Aqib Fiaz. However, facing Garner, a European champion possessing considerable skill, the 34-year-old recognizes the necessity of a more composed and tactical approach to secure the win.

Discussing the upcoming bout, Bellotti noted similarities between himself and Garner. He stated that while many highlight his power, he no longer focuses on it, having learned from past experiences. “If it`s there, it`s there,” he remarked, adding that Garner will be the one who needs to adjust on fight night.

Continuing his long-standing collaboration with esteemed coach and British boxing legend Jim McDonnell, Bellotti is well-versed in the demands of a rigorous training camp. He describes training as a fundamental part of his life, motivated by both maintaining peak physical condition and the competitive drive. He works closely with McDonnell, who pushes him to meet challenging targets, emphasizing the constant need to evolve.

“We`re always working on new things in the gym,” Bellotti explained, highlighting that success requires more than just raw power. “You can’t just go out there and blast everyone out; you’ve got to have more to your game.”

The London-based fighter embraces every challenge he encounters, and even at this stage of his career, his passion remains exceptionally strong. Should he overcome Garner, winning the European title, which he hasn`t held, is a significant step. Bellotti confirmed he accepted the fight immediately because “It’s a fight that progresses me onto the world scene, with a ranking [from] winning that belt. So that’s what I’m coming for.” A successful outing would significantly elevate his world ranking and put him firmly in contention for a world title opportunity, potentially capping a compelling career journey.
