Professional Fighters League (PFL) has once again cancelled a scheduled event in Paris, France. The promotion announced on Thursday that the show planned for May 23rd will no longer take place, although no specific reason for the cancellation was provided.
In its official statement, PFL referred to the event as being “rescheduled” and confirmed that ticket holders would receive refunds. However, the announcement did not include any information about a potential new date for the Paris card. This cancellation follows a previous instance where a planned Bellator event in Paris was also stated to be “rescheduled for later dates”.
The now-cancelled event was highly anticipated, partly due to the expected mixed martial arts debut of former French national football team and Manchester United captain, Patrice Evra. Unfortunately, the show was called off before an opponent for Evra could even be officially announced.
The main event for the PFL Paris card was set to feature a lightweight bout between local fighter Mansour Barnaoui and Archie Colgan. PFL has not yet made any announcements regarding whether the fights originally scheduled for this event, including various PFL Europe bantamweight matchups, will be relocated to other upcoming cards.
