Preview Pat Brown Secures Rapid Knockout Against Lewis Oakford

Sale`s rising boxing star, Pat Brown, maintained his perfect professional record, achieving his third consecutive victory with a devastating first-round knockout against Lewis Oakford at the Manchester Arena this evening. The fight was billed as a potential challenge, but after an initial reconnaissance period lasting roughly 90 seconds, Brown unleashed a powerful offensive that his opponent simply could not withstand.

Brown`s first two professional bouts had resulted in relatively quick and straightforward finishes. However, Oakford arrived with eight professional fights and a winning record, having faced decent opposition, leading to expectations that he would offer a degree of resistance.

This resistance did not materialise. Known as ‘The Mighty Oak’, Oakford was visibly hurt, driven back against the ropes in the corner, and absorbing a series of brutal uppercuts and sweeping hooks. Referee John Latham from Bury observed the situation closely, allowing the Wycombe fighter every chance to recover and continue, but Oakford was unable to respond. The contest was halted at 2 minutes and 6 seconds of the opening round, which had been scheduled for eight.

Improving his record to 3-0, all via knockout, Pat Brown`s performance raises the prospect of an exciting future clash against Aloys Junior. Junior had required a more laboured three rounds to defeat the same opponent, Lewis Oakford. Oakford`s record now stands at 6-3, and he risks becoming a fighter primarily used as a benchmark for prospects aiming for domestic honours.

Reflecting on his performance, Brown stated,

“This fight really got me fired up. Everyone has been commenting on my defence being poor, things like that,”

indicating his desire to showcase composure and skill.

He added,

“I try to throw every punch with serious intent, but as you move up the ranks, you can`t always do that. There’s no need to rush things too much. I`m thoroughly enjoying this process, and I plan to be a significant presence in the sport.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn praised Brown enthusiastically:

“He`s nasty [in the ring], an absolute beast. Honestly one of the most thrilling fighters on the planet right now. That was meant to be a step-up fight. The support he has is phenomenal. It’s going to be incredibly tough to stop his momentum. Him versus Aloys in this arena would completely fill the place – what an unbelievable fight. Pure class!”
