Former IBF super-lightweight champion Liam Paro is back in the win column and is now on track for a potential shot at regaining his title, as the IBF has mandated him to face Lindolfo Delgado in a title eliminator.

Paro, holding a record of 26 wins and 1 loss with 16 knockouts, captured the IBF title at 140lbs last year by defeating Subriel Matias. However, his reign was brief, ending just six months later when he was outpointed by the undefeated American Richardson Hitchins.

Last Wednesday, the Australian southpaw made his return to the ring for the first time since his title loss. He displayed a dominant performance against Jonathan Navarro, culminating in an impressive fifth-round stoppage victory.

Following this successful comeback, the 29-year-old has been rewarded with a new multi-year contract with promotional company No Limit Boxing. Their CEO, George Rose, highlighted Paro`s potential on Instagram, hailing him as a future pay-per-view headliner.

“We are incredibly excited about this multi-year agreement with Liam. His bouts are action-packed, his fighting style is captivating, and he is poised to become our next big pay-per-view star that Australians will undoubtedly embrace,” Rose stated.

No Limit Boxing also confirmed the IBF`s order for a title eliminator between Paro, ranked IBF #4, and the undefeated Mexican challenger Lindolfo Delgado. Delgado, boasting a record of 23 wins with no losses and 16 knockouts, currently holds the #5 ranking in the super-lightweight division.

Over the past 18 months, the 30-year-old Delgado has steadily climbed the ranks, with significant victories against Bryan Flores and Elvis Rodriguez solidifying his status among the super-lightweight elite.

While a showdown with Delgado represents the clearest path towards challenging for a world title, Paro also has the option of pursuing a major domestic clash against fellow Australian George Kambosos Jr., a fight that could significantly boost his profile at home.

George Kambosos`s future in the sport remains uncertain, particularly following his recent conclusive defeat to Richardson Hitchins.
