The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has formally instructed the commencement of negotiations for a potential heavyweight world championship title fight featuring Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO) and Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KO). The two camps have been given until May 22nd to successfully reach an agreement regarding this proposed bout.

Despite Chisora holding the position of official mandatory challenger for the IBF title, this particular contest is widely seen as improbable in the immediate future. This is due to Dubois`s clear intention to pursue a unification showdown against the reigning WBA, WBO, and WBC heavyweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk. It is anticipated that representatives acting on behalf of the current IBF champion will soon file a formal request to delay his mandatory title defense obligation.

The highly anticipated rematch between Dubois and Usyk is firmly scheduled for July 12th. This significant boxing event is slated to take place at the iconic Wembley Stadium located in London. The upcoming fight will be a repeat of their previous encounter from two years prior, a bout where the Ukrainian champion secured a decisive victory via knockout.
