A popular featherweight fighter appears to have departed the UFC.
Alex Caceres, a veteran UFC featherweight and former main event fighter, has competed in the Octagon since 2010.
A veteran of ‘The Ultimate Fighter 12’, Caceres spent 14 years on the UFC roster, facing notable opponents such as Urijah Faber, Yair Rodriguez, Sergio Pettis, and Giga Chikadze.
Although still listed on the active UFC roster currently, the announcement of Caceres’ next fight has come as a surprise.

Alex Caceres Schedules First Fight Outside the UFC
On Monday, it was revealed that Caceres is set to fight former UFC fighter Saidyokub Kakhramonov. This bout will take place outside the Octagon, specifically at Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing Championship on June 14th in Miami, Florida.
Dirty Boxing is a new hybrid combat sport combining elements of MMA and boxing, utilizing four-ounce gloves. It permits punches, slaps, elbows, and ground and pound.
The featherweight contest between Caceres and Kakhramonov is scheduled as a co-main event for DBX 2. The main event features former UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik against Devon Schwan.
Although Caceres remains on the official UFC roster list, accepting this booking strongly indicates the conclusion of his 30-fight career with the promotion.
A request for comment regarding Caceres’ potential UFC release sent to DBX did not receive an immediate response.
Alex Caceres Earned Multiple Bonuses During UFC Tenure
Caceres departs the UFC following two consecutive decision losses, first against Giga Chikadze in 2023 and then Sean Woodson approximately a year ago.
Known as ‘Bruce Leeroy’, he compiled a UFC record of 16-13 (1 NC) and earned approximately $400,000, including eight performance bonuses, throughout his time with the promotion.
In his first main event appearance in 2016, Caceres pushed former interim champion Yair Rodriguez to a split decision, a fight that earned both participants `Fight of the Night` honors.
The popular fighter achieved a five-fight winning streak in the featherweight division, defeating opponents like Chase Hooper, Kevin Croom, and Steven Peterson, which led to him being ranked in the top-15.
A standout performance occurred in 2014 when Caceres submitted former Bellator champion Sergio Pettis in an action-packed bout, earning Caceres a $100,000 bonus.
