Following recent UFC events, significant shifts have occurred in the MMA Pound-for-Pound rankings.
Jack Della Maddalena claimed the welterweight title by defeating champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 315, while Alexander Volkanovski became a two-time featherweight champion with a hard-fought victory over Diego Lopes at UFC 314.
These pivotal results reshaped the Men`s Pound-for-Pound list. Former No. 5 Belal Muhammad dropped eight spots to No. 13 after his loss. Della Maddalena, previously unranked, skyrocketed all the way to No. 9, extending his impressive win streak to 18. Undefeated since 2016, Della Maddalena is poised for further ranking impact with a potential future bout against Islam Makhachev.
Alexander Volkanovski climbed from No. 13 to No. 8, reaching his highest ranking since July 2024. After a previous knockout loss to Ilia Topuria, it was speculated he might decline, but his inspiring performance against Lopes solidified his return to champion status and a spot in the top 10 for a while longer.
Notably, former champion Leon Edwards fell out of the rankings entirely after a significant defeat to Sean Brady. While Brady received votes on multiple ballots, he did not yet enter the top 20.
Meanwhile, Jon Jones continues to drop in the rankings, likely due to inactivity.
Significant movement also occurred in the women`s Pound-for-Pound rankings. Natalia Silva secured a clear decision win over former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso at UFC 315, and Virna Jandiroba extended her win streak to five with a decision victory over Yan Xiaonan at UFC 314.
These performances bolster their claims for championship opportunities. Silva soared 11 spots into a tie for No. 5 with Manon Fiorot, who put on a spirited effort against Valentina Shevchenko, while Jandiroba rose seven spots to No. 11.
