Isis Sio, the 19-year-old boxer who was placed in a medically induced coma after a severe knockout loss to Jocelyn Camarillo on March 22, has been released from the hospital and is now back home with her family.
“We are profoundly grateful for the immense love, prayers, and support that have poured in from the boxing community, friends, fans, and people across the globe,” Sio’s family shared with TMZ. “The prayers offered during this challenging period have meant everything to Isis and her family. God is great, and we truly believe He heard every single prayer spoken for her.”
At the time of the incident, this was only Sio’s fourth professional fight, and her professional record stood at 1-2.
Following the match, ProBoxTV released a statement regarding the incident: “On behalf of CEO Garry Jonas and the entire ProBox family, we are praying for Isis Sio’s swift recovery. Ms. Sio was in a medically induced coma. Our thoughts are with her and her family during this extremely challenging time.”
