Barcelona is reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Juventus wing-back Andrea Cambiaso to bolster their defensive capabilities for the upcoming season. The Spanish club’s management has reportedly identified the Italian international as a prime target, believing his playing style aligns perfectly with the high-intensity tactical system favored by coach Hansi Flick.
The Catalan giants are not the first prominent European club to express interest in the 26-year-old’s development. Premier League side Manchester City had previously made approaches and submitted formal offers for the defender, though he ultimately opted to remain in Turin to continue his progression within the Bianconeri project. A key factor attracting Barcelona’s recruitment team to Cambiaso is his remarkable versatility. His ability to perform effectively on both the left and right flanks, as well as in more advanced midfield positions, would provide Flick with significant tactical flexibility.
While the Italian’s recent season may not have been stellar, his appeal among top European clubs remains evident.
